When I stumbled upon a snippet of this wedding on Suzanne Karp’s blog, it was love at first sight! I love the simple yet fun details and how happy the couple looks. Yes I know everyone looks happy on their wedding day, but there is just something about the images of Greg and Karen that make me know its real and permanent. The wedding took place at Barndiva in Healdsburg, California. I love the bride and groom’s non generic style! Karen found her dress on Posh Girl Vintage, which has some amazing vintage dresses. Her fabulous veil is by San Gabriel veiling and headpieces. Thank you so much Suzanne for sharing this gorgeous wedding with us!
Suzanne mentioned in her blog post that the couple’s vows were some of the most wonderful that she has heard in her 10 years of photographing weddings. Here is a snippet of the ceremony, “Be gracious, and know that your partner will do the same for you when that need arises. You will be called upon to carry each other from time to time, in ways that you may never have expected. Be open to those possibilities and take them in stride. To Greg: Help Karen down the bunny hill until she is ready to ski on more difficult terrain. Karen: Be there to make sure Greg does not leave his sunglasses behind on restaurant table tonight and every other night as long as you live. Much of your life together will come naturally and will be fluid. I encourage you to communicate openly and honestly at every turn. Listen to each other. Really listen. Communication is much less about what the speaker says, and much more about what listener actually hears. Don’t harbor anxiety or fear in this marriage. Challenge each other, share your aspirations for the future and pick your battles carefully. Your shared success in marriage is not only choosing the right partner, it is BEING the right partner.”

This actually makes me a little sad that I am not best buddies with this couple. What a great sense of fun, individual authenticity and style. And what an incredibly, amazingly gifted photographer they chose! Just gorgeous, all of it.
I’m in love with her dress!
For those of you who don’t know the happy couple and were not there on their special day, it WAS amazing. A beautiful bride, an energetic groom, goregous flowers and the perfect setting. I know all this as I am the brides sister. The photographers were awesome and the pictures are fabulous but don’t do justice for those of us lucky enough to witness such a great event.
OMG-this looks like such a fabulous wedding. I am going to check it out Barndiva in Healdsburg for my own wedding!
